OUR STORY

Daniel Wilcox

NFL Legend, XXXII Superbowl Champ

Director of Division 1 Athletic Transition Program

Born and raised in Decatur, Georgia, Daniel Wilcox grew up with limited exposure outside his hometown. However, his drive and determination propelled him to extraordinary heights. After excelling at Decatur High School, he earned his associate degree at Georgia Military Junior College and went on to star at Appalachian State University, where he  majored in communications and advertising.

Undrafted in 2001, Wilcox defied the odds by signing with the New York Jets and later contributed to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ first Super Bowl win in 2002. He further showcased his talents with the Baltimore Ravens in 2004, where he solidified his career as a reliable tight end. Wilcox recorded his first NFL touchdown in 2004 and achieved a career-high three touchdowns in the 2006 season.

Beyond football, Daniel Wilcox has embraced life as a father and husband, marrying former Ms. Belize of New York, Shauna Chin. Wilcox’s journey from a small-town upbringing to NFL success exemplifies perseverance, passion, and purpose, making him a true inspiration for the collegiate athletes he will mentor and guide for life after sports.
